Mosaic Crochet Blankets
Have you ever thought about trying mosaic crochet? It is incredibly beginner friendly! Using only one colour per row (no messing around with bobbins), and three easy to master stitches, you can create incredible masterpieces. Below I have brought together a collection of simply stunning mosaic crochet blankets to help inspire you to give it a go. All of those featured use the overlay mosaic crochet technique (yes, there are other techniques out there too lol).
Here are a few key pointers about overlay mosaic crochet to demonstrate just how beginner friendly it is:
All rows are worked from right to left.
The yarn colour changes with every row i.e. you ONLY use ONE colour per row.
Every row contains the same number of stitches.
The first and last stitch of every row is a single crochet.
The only other stitches used are a back loop only single crochet (BLOsc) and a front loop only double crochet (FLOdc).
Most patterns include both written instructions and a graph.
You can hide all of the ends within an envelope border - almost NO ENDS to weave in!
