The Mytikas Scarf - Crochet Pattern

One of the things that I love most about crochet is how it allows us to create something both beautiful and practical at the same time - that is exactly what you'll get with the Mytikas Scarf. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced crocheter, this pattern is perfect for you 😀. As you work each stitch, imagine the joy that you will feel from giving it as a gift to someone you love or wearing it yourself!

You might be wondering why it is called the ‘Mytikas’ scarf… it’s a testament to how my brain works, often going off on tangents lol - please feel free to skip ahead if you’d prefer to stick to crochet.

I recently watched a Korean tv show called ‘Physical 100’, where athletes compete against each other in a series of challenges for the honour of being called the best. One of their challenges involved tasks inspired by the ‘punishments’ found in Greek mythology. The upgoing lines within my pattern reminded me of the punishment faced by Sisyphos - to continuously push a boulder uphill. That then made me think about the Greek gods… who lived on Mount Olympus… and Mytikas is the name given to the highest peak of Mount Olympus. Yeah… my brain is odd 😂.

Getting back to crochet… the Mytikas scarf is a filet design that is suitable for crocheters of any skill level. It is available in both adult and child sizing, and has been fully pattern tested.

This scarf was inspired by my desire to design a pattern that my husband (AKA the husbeast lol) would wear. I feel that men are often overlooked in crochet, and so wanted to shine a spotlight upon them (although this scarf is suitable for every gender).
